Course description:
This course is mandated by the cities of Oshawa and Pickering for anyone wanting to drive a taxicab. Course topics include customer service, defensive driving, bylaw requirements, cultural awareness, vehicle care and maintenance, driver and passenger safety, and business management and finances. (Tuition includes a $25 non-tax-deductible supply fee.)

Pickering taxi training is held at the East Shore Community Centre (910 Liverpool Road South, Pickering, Ontario) or the Recreation Complex (1867 Valley Farm Road, Pickering Ontario).

Registration can be completed in person at the Durham College Corporate Training Services office (Room 160), or over the phone through our credit card registration line by calling 905.721.2000.
Withdrawals and refunds:
Refunds will be issued only if the Official Withdrawal form is received no later than three business days prior to the program’s scheduled start date.
Please note: all refunds are subject to a cancellation fee.
Taxi Refresher – City of Oshawa
As mandated by the City of Oshawa, a taxi driver must complete a refresher program every 5 years. This program will refresh by-laws, customer service, safety, defensive driving, business management and map reading skills.
