Length: 36 hours
Cost: $1,100 (includes $350 non-tax deductible supply fee)
This five-day training program is designed for those with limited or no previous experience operating powered lift trucks. This full-time program consists of intensive classroom instruction and includes extensive hands-on experience with a variety of different lift trucks.
Oral, written testing and a practical evaluations are also included.
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Durham College certificate and wallet-size card.
Topics:
- Legislation;
- Lifting, moving and placing loads;
- Specific plant issues; and
- Types of trucks and lift trucks.
Prerequisites:
- Previous driving experience or G2 driver’s licence suggested; and
- Required safety equipment: safety boots, glasses and work gloves.
